V End

Red
Dancing Glow
Spreading across eyes
Filled with passionate urges
Desperate to reach carefully forward
Tempted by soft, speckled, broken wings
And dripping metallic liquid from innocent fingers
Stretching farther over child like body
Heat of desire enveloping screams
Crying a single question
"Why slay me,
Valentine's Hero,
Cupid?"

Death of a Lover's Muse

Soft rose petals brush against marble rock
Gathering together in innocent gestures
Unknowingly pushing pain deeper within

Blunted heart-shaped arrows bounce helplessly
Scattering the well meaning Valentines hopes
Drowning them slowly in pools of unshed tears

Sparks crackle in frozen heat
When desperate measures
Take newly pointed tips too far

Broken dreams echo in sudden silence
The world watches in morbid awe
One bent arrow flys towards winged Hero's heart

Grunt of breath dissolves questions
As tears pour from not-so innocent eyes
Rose red lips move in desperate pleading

Awakening urges from within
And tilt hardened stone
To listen as Cupid's voice begins to fade

Memories of love
Flit past haunted orbs
Seeing all but truth

Metallic beads begin to stretch
Panicked fingers rise
Grasping for last chances drifting away

Love's confession grows faint
As light dims
Last breath echoes

Words acknowledged too late.
